Milan Pešl

Milan Pešl studied acting in Hamburg. This was followed by engagements at theatres in Munich and Hamburg and trips to theatre festivals in Colombia and South Korea.

In addition to his work on stage, Milan Pešl is a frequent musician in the theatre and in bands, as well as a speaker. He has produced numerous radio plays for SWR, WDR and DLR Kultur, several of which have been awarded radio play prizes. From 2009 to 2019, Milan Pešl was a permanent member of the ensemble of the Stadttheater Gießen, where he performed in numerous productions. Among many others, Franz WOYZECK, the revolutionary Zwonimir in HOTEL SAVOY, Uncle Bob in REPUBLIK DES GLÜCKS or Pawel in KINDER DER SONNE.

Furthermore, Milan Pešl works repeatedly as a director, whereby he is particularly interested in the search for unusual aesthetics and formal languages. At the beginning of 2015 he edited the novel SOLARIS by Stanislaw Lem and in 2017 the material he wrote IN ETERNITY as performative live radio plays, for which he also composed the music. The friction surfaces of language, music and sound are a central theme in many of his works.

Since 2019 Milan Pešl has been the artistic director of the Bruchwerk Theater in Siegen, which he co-founded.

He has two children and lives in Siegen.
