Dominik Breuer was born in Bergisch-Gladbach in 1978 and grew up in Leverkusen.

After graduating from high school, he completed his training at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum and at the Junges Theater Leverkusen until 2001 and continued his education in various theater techniques in the following years.
During this time, engagements took him to the WTT Remscheid, the Theater Junge Generation in Dresden, the Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg, the Stadttheater Bremerhaven, the Stadttheater Gießen and the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg.

Since 2011 he has been working as a freelance actor, including dance productions with choreographers such as Nanine Linning and Nicki Liszta. In addition to his work as an actor, Dominik Breuer works as a narrator, playwright and lecturer for acting, role study, movement and stage combat. He has also appeared in various film and television productions, including the award-winning film "Oi!Warning". In 2010, he was a lecturer for directing for the first time in the Deutsche SchülerAkademie.

As a director and author, he developed both premieres and adaptations of classical texts projects for the stage as well as concepts for public space, which have received several awards. During this time his interest in the fields of political education, social sciences and ecology grew. Research took him to Tanzania, India, Syria, Japan and the Ukraine, among other places, and culminated in various documentary productions. He experiments with a wide variety of media and platforms and developed a growing interest in participatory methods that enable an audience to manipulate scenic processes.

Dominik Breuer lives in Brussels and Leverkusen.
